Terms and conditions

These terms cover registration for the flamenco workshop with Joaquín Ruiz, held 6 – 8 November 2026 at Sun Dance Academy, Údernícka 7, 811 09 Bratislava-Petržalka.

Who runs the workshop

The organiser is Júlia Aguado, Sauberg 22, 900 21 Svätý Jur. Contact: julia@juliaaguado.com. Joaquín Ruiz, a guest teacher from Spain, leads the workshop. Registration, payment and everything around them are with me.

Who can register

The workshop is for adults. If you are under 18 you can only take part with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian — write to me beforehand and we will sort it out. By sending the form you confirm that you have read these terms and agree to them.

Registration and payment

You register with the form on this page. Straight after, an email arrives with the bank details and a payment reference. Payment is by bank transfer to the account in that email. Put the reference in the transfer’s message — that is how I match the payment to you. Payment is due 7 days from sending the form, and your spot is held until then. The registration becomes binding the moment the payment reaches the account. If it has not arrived by the due date, the registration lapses and the spot is released.

Price and discounts

The price of each course is shown with the course and in the form, and it is final — nothing is added to it. It covers the teaching and the room. It does not cover shoes or clothing.

Two or three whole courses on one registration are 15% off their price.

I reserve the right to offer single days of a course as well, if spots remain. Their price would then be shown in the form. No discount applies to them.

Places and minimum numbers

Each course has 15 spots. Once a course fills, registration closes. For a course to run I need at least 6 paid spots on it, and for the whole workshop to run at least 30 in all. If those numbers are not reached I reserve the right to cancel the course, or the whole workshop. How and by when is below.

If you cancel

If you cannot come, write to me at julia@juliaaguado.com. Up to 7 October 2026, that is 30 days before the start, you get the full amount back. After that day the fee is not refunded, because a spot is rarely filled that late. Instead of cancelling you can send someone in your place up to 1 November 2026 — just send me their name and email, it costs nothing. Refunds go back within 14 days of the cancellation, to the account the payment came from.

The statutory right to withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason does not apply to an event with a fixed date, under the Slovak Consumer Protection Act. The rule above applies instead.

If I cancel

I may cancel a course, or the whole workshop, if the minimum numbers are not reached, if Joaquín falls ill or cannot travel, or for another serious reason. Whether a course is cancelled for low numbers I decide, and tell you, by 23 October 2026 at the latest, that is 14 days before the start. A cancellation for any other reason I tell you about without undue delay. In both cases you get the full amount back within 14 days, to the account it came from, or we agree on another course if it has a spot. I cannot cover travel or accommodation, so book them so that they can be cancelled.

If something outside my control makes the workshop impossible — damage to the venue, an official restriction, a transport failure — I will try to find a new date. If none can be found, or it does not suit you, you get the full amount back.

Changes to the programme

Joaquín teaches in English. Details of the schedule may shift. If the date, the venue or the teacher were to change, you would hear by email and could withdraw with a full refund.

Health and your own responsibility

Flamenco is physically demanding — it loads the joints, the back and the feet. Your health and fitness are your responsibility: if you have an injury or a health limitation, tell me beforehand, and if you are unsure, ask a doctor. Before the start you sign a short declaration on paper that you take part at your own risk, that your health allows it and that you will follow the teacher’s instructions. Without it you cannot take part. My liability for damage I might cause is not affected by it. I am not responsible for belongings left in the changing room, so keep valuables with you.

Shoes and conduct

For Vulcano Danza socks are enough. For the other two courses you need flamenco shoes. Shoes with black rubber soles that mark the floor are not allowed in the studio. Wear something you can move in. If you arrive under the influence of alcohol or other substances, or seriously disrupt a lesson or endanger others, I may exclude you from the workshop without a refund.

Recording, photographs and video

The choreography and everything Joaquín teaches is his own work. Filming the whole choreography or a whole lesson without his consent is not allowed.

During the workshop I may take photographs or video and use them to promote my work — on the website, on social media and in print. Before the start I ask you on paper whether you may appear in what is published. That consent is voluntary, it is not a condition of taking part, and you can withdraw it at any time by email. The withdrawal does not affect what was published before. If you do not consent, you will not appear in anything published — saying so once is enough.

Personal data

What I keep from your registration, what for and for how long is in the privacy notice. It applies together with these terms.

Disputes and validity

If something is wrong, write to me first. If we cannot settle it, you can turn to the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia), which is also a body for alternative dispute resolution. Our relationship is governed by Slovak law. These terms apply from the day they are published, and the date of the last change is at the top. Your registration is governed by the wording in force on the day you sent it — a later change affects it only if it is better for you.
